Graduate in Physics (Licenciado en Ciencias Fisicas) in 1993, Master (Licenciado con grado) in Physics in 1994, Ph. D in Physics in 1999 from the University of Cantabria (Spain), Habilation degree from the University paul Sabatier in 2007.

His research interests include plasma technologies applied to environmental and energy problems, plasma modelling, and the formation of carbon-based nanostructures.
